Want to make some school children laugh?
On this map of Kanawha County, each dot is a school that has requested volunteer readers to visit once a week and share with students the lifelong habit of reading for fun.
Children who read for fun tend to read on their own. With practice, they improve. This improvement leads to better grades, higher test scores and success throughout life. We help plant that seed by visiting classrooms each week to read to children -- just for fun. The major way children develop this habit is when caring adults read to them.
