Picture book author,illustrator Jan Brett to appear at Beckley youth museum
Sept. 25, 2011 -- Children's author and illustrator Jan Brett will visit Beckley's Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia on Nov. 9 as part of a major exhibit of her work.
Brett, creator of picture book classics such as "Gingerbread Baby," "Town Mouse, Country Mouse" and "The Mitten," will be at the museum from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 9. She will give a presentation and sign her newest book "Home for Christmas."
The interactive exhibit "The World of Jan Brett" runs through the end of December. It includes original artwork, hands-on activities and themed readings.
The exhibit was organized with Brett by the Oshkosh Public Museum in Wisconsin.
